FESTIVE TOGETHER – JTC SUPPORTS CHARITIES AROUND THE WORLD

Employees from across JTC’s global network of offices joined together to support a number of charities and community groups over the festive period through a range of initiatives.

In the spirit of Christmas giving, donations were made to support the work of local charities chosen by employees across JTC’s jurisdictional offices. The nominated charities were Quiet in Amsterdam; the Family Support Network in the BVI; the Lions Club of Grand Cayman’s Christmas Toy Drive in the Cayman Islands; Dubai Cares in Dubai; WIGWAM in Guernsey; Alone in Dublin; Graih in the Isle of Man; the Jersey Christmas Appeal in Jersey; Care Luxembourg in Luxembourg; Link to Life in Mauritius; La Croix-Rouge Genevoise in Geneva; St Mungo’s Homeless Charity in London; Street Steam in San Jose; Coops Troops in Boston; St Jude’s in Miami; the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention in New York; Feeding South Dakota in South Dakota; and a homecooked meals initiative in South Africa.

Those donations were further extended through a ‘Reverse Advent Calendar’ initiative where staff in Jersey, Guernsey, Cayman Islands, Isle of Man and the BVI donated food items and gifts and created special hampers over the course of December, which were then distributed to their chosen charities.

In addition, the team in Jersey reinforced their support of the Jersey Christmas Appeal by sponsoring the Christmas lunches for five local charities, enabling them to host lunches for vulnerable islanders at the end of what was a particularly challenging year. Employees in Jersey also managed to raise around £7,000 for Jersey Hospice Care through a virtual raffle.

In the Isle of Man, the team also delivered some special hampers full of treats and gifts to the local Reayrt ny Baie care home, with the home being unable to host their usual Christmas party for residents.

Meanwhile, at a Group level, instead of sending Christmas cards in 2020, JTC sought to highlight the challenges posed by mental health by making a donation to United for Global Mental Health, a charity dedicated to making mental health support accessible globally, and by featuring mental health in the firm’s annual season’s greetings video message.
